Description

Mechanical Uplift Pressure System – Model EPU-20G

The EPU-20G uplift pressure system is a mechanical device designed to measure uplift water pressure in the foundations of dams, spillways, and mass concrete structures.
It consists of a perforated or non-perforated steel pipe (50 mm diameter) of sufficient strength, installed in a drilled hole that extends from the instrumentation gallery to the required foundation depth.
At the gallery end, a Bourdon pressure gauge is connected to the pipe, enabling direct pressure measurement of the water seeping through foundation rock or concrete pores.

The system offers a simple, reliable, and cost-effective solution for uplift pressure monitoring. Readings are taken manually inside the instrumentation gallery, making it ideal for installations where periodic observation is sufficient and continuous remote data is not required.
