Description
Beam Sensor – Models EAN-41M / EAN-42M
The Encardio-rite Models EAN-41M and EAN-42M are MEMS-based beam sensors designed for monitoring differential movement, deformation, and rotation in structures such as retaining walls, embankments, bridge decks, tunnels, and concrete slabs.
These instruments are ideal for applications requiring accurate detection of structural deflection or bending over a defined distance.
System Overview
Each beam sensor consists of a high-precision MEMS tilt sensor mounted inside a rigid aluminum beam, available in lengths of 1 m, 2 m, or 3 m with a cross-section of 38 × 38 mm.
The beam acts as a reference element — as the monitored surface deforms or rotates, the tilt sensor inside measures the angular change relative to the initial position.
Multiple beam sensors can be installed end-to-end to create a continuous deflection monitoring array, allowing engineers to visualize bending profiles and settlement patterns across long structures.
The digital output of the EAN-41M / EAN-42M can be easily connected to the Encardio-rite ESDL-30 wireless datalogger or any compatible data acquisition system for automatic and real-time monitoring.
