Description
In-Place 3D Inclinometer with Settlement System – Model EAN-61MS
The EAN-61MS in-place 3D inclinometer with settlement (IPIS) system is an advanced monitoring solution designed to measure both lateral displacement and vertical settlement or heave within a single borehole or directly on structural elements.
It provides a comprehensive 3-axis deformation profile (X–Y–Z) in real time, making it indispensable for applications where combined lateral and vertical movement data are critical for assessing structural or geotechnical stability.
The system is widely used in earthworks, slopes, retaining walls, diaphragm walls, embankments, deep foundations, dams, and landslide-prone areas.
By integrating inclinometer and settlement sensors into one continuous probe chain, the EAN-61MS offers a unique capability to capture simultaneous measurements of tilt and settlement along the same axis — a functionality previously not achievable with conventional instruments.
System Overview
The EAN-61MS IPIS consists of a string of connected probes installed inside an inclinometer casing, forming a continuous measurement array covering the full movement zone.
Each probe contains:
-
A high-precision biaxial MEMS tilt sensor for monitoring lateral movement (X–Y)
-
A contactless magnetic displacement sensor for detecting settlement or heave (Z)
All sensors are housed in stainless steel, waterproof enclosures with flexible joints between probes, allowing smooth articulation and accurate shape profiling of the borehole.
The data collected from all sensors are transmitted to a datalogger or wireless network for real-time processing, visualization, and alert generation.
