Description
Center Hole Load Cell – Model ELC-30S
The Encardio-rite Model ELC-30S is a resistive strain gauge type center hole load cell, designed for measuring load in rock bolts, tieback anchors, foundation anchors, and other tensioned structural elements.
It provides accurate and repeatable load measurement under both laboratory and harsh field conditions, offering long-term stability and excellent protection against moisture and corrosion.
System Overview
The ELC-30S load cell operates on the Wheatstone bridge principle, using eight high-precision 350 Ω resistance strain gauges mounted symmetrically around the circumference of a high-strength steel cylinder at 45° intervals.
The gauges are connected in a full bridge configuration to form a 700 Ω circuit, providing a stable and sensitive electrical output proportional to the applied load.
The entire assembly is hermetically sealed by electron beam welding, creating a vacuum-tight enclosure that ensures reliable performance even in humid, submerged, or corrosive environments.
This robust design makes the ELC-30S ideal for long-term geotechnical and structural monitoring applications.
