The ETT-10V Vibrating Wire Temperature Meter is a precision instrument designed to measure internal temperature changes within concrete structures, soil, or water. It is particularly useful for monitoring temperature rise during the curing of mass concrete, as well as long-term temperature variations in geotechnical and structural applications.
The sensor operates on the vibrating wire principle, in which a magnetic, high-tensile strength wire is kept under tension and fixed to a material with a different coefficient of thermal expansion. Any change in temperature alters the tension of the wire, thereby changing its natural frequency of vibration. This frequency shift is directly proportional to the temperature variation and can be precisely measured using standard vibrating wire readout units or data acquisition systems.
The ETT-10V is constructed from stainless steel and hermetically sealed under a vacuum of 0.001 Torr, ensuring long-term stability, corrosion resistance, and immunity from moisture ingress. Its compact, rugged design makes it ideal for embedment in concrete or installation in harsh environmental conditions.
