Beam Sensor – Models EAN-41M / EAN-42M
The Encardio-rite Models EAN-41M and EAN-42M are precision MEMS-based beam sensors designed for monitoring differential movement, deformation, and tilting in civil and geotechnical structures.
They are ideal for use on retaining walls, tunnels, bridge decks, embankments, dams, foundations, and railway tracks, where long-term accuracy and durability are essential.
System Overview
Each beam sensor incorporates a high-accuracy MEMS tilt sensor housed inside a rigid aluminum beam available in 1 m, 2 m, or 3 m lengths.
The beam is securely attached to the structure to measure angular displacement caused by differential settlement or rotation.

Model EAN-41M provides an analog voltage output, suitable for connection to portable readout units or data acquisition systems via a Busmux/multiplexer.

Model EAN-42M is a digital version with SDI-12/RS-485 output and can interface directly with the Encardio-rite ESDL-30 wireless datalogger for automated, real-time data logging and transmission.
The beam sensors can be installed vertically or horizontally using special mounting fasteners supplied for concrete surfaces.
For railway monitoring applications, optional mounting plates are available for installation on wooden sleepers.
These sensors provide a cost-effective and stable system with excellent resolution, repeatability, and long-term reliability even in harsh environmental conditions.
