Description
Jackout Pressure Cell – Model EPS-30V-J
The Encardio-rite Model EPS-30V-J is a vibrating-wire jackout pressure cell designed to measure contact stress on the face of structural elements such as base slabs, diaphragm/slurry walls, and retaining structures.
It provides precise and long-term monitoring of total pressure acting on concrete surfaces during and after construction.
System Overview
The EPS-30V-J pressure cell is a specially engineered instrument combining a thin, flexible diaphragm with a thick, rigid back plate.
Both plates are stainless steel and are electron-beam welded along their periphery, forming a narrow sealed cavity filled with de-aired fluid.
The vibrating-wire pressure sensor is welded concentrically with the back plate, ensuring excellent hydraulic coupling and uniform pressure transfer from the diaphragm to the sensor.
When pressure acts on the flexible diaphragm (in contact with the wall or slab face), the resulting stress is transmitted through the fluid to the vibrating-wire sensor, which converts it into a stable frequency output proportional to the applied load.
This robust design minimizes structural deformation effects and provides consistent readings even under long-term field conditions.
