Description
Model: EBSM-101M
Magnetic Scour Monitoring System
The Encardio-rite EBSM-101M is a magnetic-based scour monitoring system designed for accurate and reliable measurement of riverbed or streambed elevation changes caused by scouring and sediment deposition. It utilizes a magnetic collar mechanism that moves vertically along a stainless steel support tube embedded in the streambed to reflect real-time changes in bed level.
The system consists of a magnetic collar placed on the riverbed and a stainless steel probe containing an array of magnetic reed switches positioned at fixed 45 mm intervals. As scouring occurs and the riverbed level changes, the collar slides down the support pipe. When it passes a switch position, the sensor records the corresponding depth, locking that reading to indicate the extent of downward movement.
This simple yet robust design enables continuous monitoring of riverbed scour depth, especially around bridge foundations, piers, and hydraulic structures, where erosion can threaten structural integrity. The EBSM-101M provides low-maintenance, long-term operation, making it highly suitable for permanent installations in harsh environmental conditions.
