Description
Vibrating Wire Sister Bar – Model EDS-12V
The EDS-12V vibrating wire sister bar is designed to measure strain within reinforced concrete structures, such as diaphragm walls, piles, tunnel linings, bridge abutments, foundations, and dams.
It consists of a hollow stainless-steel bar with a vibrating wire strain gauge mounted coaxially inside. The hollow bar is extended at both ends with reinforcement bars (standard Ø12 mm, also available in Ø16 mm), allowing the sensor to be installed as part of the reinforcement cage prior to concrete pouring.
This configuration ensures that the strain measured by the sensor corresponds closely to the strain in the surrounding reinforcement, making the EDS-12V ideal for structural health monitoring during both construction and operation phases.
