Description
Electrolytic Uniaxial Tilt & Beam Sensors – Models EAN-31EL, EAN-31EL-B, EAN-41EL-B
The Encardio-rite series of electrolytic tilt and beam sensors (Models EAN-31EL, EAN-31EL-B, and EAN-41EL-B) are precision instruments designed for monitoring small angular changes, rotation, and deflection in civil and geotechnical structures.
These rugged, high-resolution tilt meters are ideal for long-term stability monitoring of buildings, retaining walls, embankments, bridges, dams, and tunnels.
Model EAN-31EL | Electrolytic Uniaxial Tilt Meter
The EAN-31EL tilt meter is a stand-alone, high-precision electrolytic tilt sensor designed for measuring very small angular changes — typically within ±0.5° — with excellent resolution and repeatability.
It is used to monitor rotation and deflection of structures in the vertical plane and is suitable for permanent installation on both concrete and steel surfaces.
The sensor is housed in a compact, weatherproof enclosure and can be mounted directly on a structure using suitable brackets, or fixed to a horizontal or vertical beam for extended measurement coverage.
It offers long-term reliability and is commonly used in arrays for precise deformation mapping.
Model EAN-31EL-B | Electrolytic Uniaxial Beam Sensor
The EAN-31EL-B is a beam-mounted version of the EAN-31EL sensor, providing an extended measurement base for tracking differential movement and settlement over longer spans.
It consists of the EAN-30EL electrolytic tilt sensor integrated within a rigid aluminum beam of specified gage length (typically 1 m, 2 m, or 3 m), supplied with all necessary mounting hardware.
Multiple beam sensors can be linked together to form an array, generating a continuous displacement profile that allows engineers to determine settlement and deformation trends across a structure or along a monitoring line.
Model EAN-41EL-B | Electrolytic Beam Sensor
The EAN-41EL-B is a high-resolution electrolytic beam sensor, engineered for monitoring inclination and vertical rotation in structural and geotechnical applications.
The sensor element is housed inside a rigid aluminum beam (available in 1 m, 2 m, or 3 m lengths) for precise angular measurement and excellent thermal stability.
These beam sensors can be used individually or installed in series to monitor differential displacement profiles along retaining walls, foundations, or embankments.
Readings from the EAN-41EL-B are obtained using the Encardio-rite EDI-53ELV readout/logger, which provides accurate voltage readings.
For long-term or remote monitoring, the sensors can be integrated with automatic data acquisition systems or ESDL-series dataloggers for real-time data collection and transmission.
